Speed up your internet web surfing using Google Gears
After installing the latest greatest version of WordPress I found a little button on the top navigation bar of the dashboard called “Turbo”.
Clicking on this will take you to the google Gears page to install the gears application.
This application is supposed to cache your browser session much more efficiently. Gears works for all browsers. It installs a Sql lite database to keep track of your browsing sessions.
Not sure on how I feel about a mini database supposedly keeping track. However it does seem to speed things up.
Try out google gears if you dare.
And so it begins
Many of you that have been with Mike for the long haul know that he's tried his hand at several different CMS/Blogging engines (BlogEngine.NET, WordPress, SubText, Community Server, Graffiti), and even maintained static .html pages for quite some time.
A new chapter has arrived and he's back to WordPress (and quite impressed with what WP2.7 offers, I might add). The difficulty here is that now he's got two big tasks ahead of him: migrating all his old posts over to this platform, and posting current articles.
He's decided to focus on the former first, and will address the latter as "blog-worthy material" comes his way (I know you're all eagerly awaiting the return of Mike's Links Monday's).
In the meantime, patience please. Just because the home page doesn't show new posts, rest assured that the old posts are being submitted, they're just being back-dated to their original post date.
